TBT – Asics Kayano ’98

It’s Throwback Thursday! Back in 1998 these Asics Kayano were the absolute best running shoes on the market. They cost more than any other shoe at that time but that didn’t stop my friend MFH from buying them too small so she had to wear them with no socks.

We were in university then so you can imagine how much she wore them, in class, all week, at the gym, biking around campus; she wore them in the rain and in the winter too. Shame I never got photos of them when they were finished, those would have been a great purchase!

Enjoy,

Pretty AND Tough

Time for one last homage to winter, I’m ready for girls in shorts now! In the mean time you gotta give it up to some of the girls on this webpage. Bones came to meet me in the dead of winter dressed like this.

Bones went to the gym before meeting me and she was walking home in the snow, still wearing her running shoes without socks. I see runner’s bare ankles in the winter once in a while but they’re usually wearing thermal socks, this is an incredibly rare sight!

Gazelle in Reebok EasyTone

Gazelle was curious to try Reebok’s EasyTone shoes and evaluate for herself how they felt. She’s wearing them casually, around the house and such. She liked how soft and seamless they feel on her pretty feet and she thinks they’ll do well as a casual shoe.

The ads Reebok have been running on those shoes always feature hot models wearing them; I thought it would be fun to try them on one of our very own hotties!

Gobetrotter in Nike Flywire

Our model Globetrotter runs outside during the summer and at the end of last year her  Mizuno running shoes were starting to lose their cushioning. Globetrotter is small and very light but her tiny size 5 feet have extremely high arches that barely touch her insoles. This kills the cushioning in her shoes quickly.

She had liked her Nike Air Max Moto but she runs without socks and the fabric inside the shoes would chafe her skin when it became too sweaty… Last fall she asked if I could find other Nike Air shoes with a really soft interior and some bright colors, this is what I came up with.

These Nike Flywire are plush and soft inside, Globetrotter loved the colors and when she started running with them she said they remained comfortable even when very sweaty. Bingo! Here are the photos we took when the shoes were brand new.

Throwback Thursdays

I’m gonna introduce a new series of posts where I share images from the archives. I’ve been doing this for a long time now and I figure some of the newest visitors of the site might find it entertaining?

Back in early 2000′s I purchased my first digital camera. It was a Nikon Coolpix sumthin’ – way expensive but so cool compared to all the film I used to shoot! These are some of the first photos I ever took with it, featuring our long-gone model Jo.

Jo was the first “popular” girl on my various websites, she was really really good at making shoes smell ridiculously strong, these Mizuno Wave Rider running shoes were one of her best examples. Who remembers Jo?

SM in Nike Shox NZ SL

It’s one of the things I’ve always found impressive about our fantastic model SM. She’s always loved leather Nike Shox running shoes and she likes wearing them without socks. On a hot summer day. At the gym running on a treadmill. All day at work. Anything.

These particular Shox NZ have a thick absorbent interior material, they smell ten times more than her more breathable all-fabric Nike Shox too! She doesn’t mind the insane smell since none of it can escape while she’s wearing them, nobody notices it; until she takes them off obviously…

Sorry for the cell phone photos, that’s all I had. Any comments?
